Davis Super Meet 3-16 Girls 3-17 Boys

  We have the Davis Super Meet which is and Invitational.  So the coaches will decide who goes to the meet.  The girls will compete On Tuesday and the boys will compete on Wednesday.


Here's the information to the meet.

We are excited to invite you to the 27th Annual Davis Super Meet. The Girls competition will be held on Tuesday, March 16th and the Boys will be on Wednesday, March 17thEvents will begin at 3:00 pm.  The field this year includes Bingham, Bountiful, Clearfield, Corner Canyon, Davis, East, Fremont, Herriman, Layton, Northridge, Riverton, Syracuse, Viewmont, and Weber. Some individual athletes from other schools may also be in attendance.

 

MEET INFORMATION AND ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS

1.            The meet will be a state qualifying meet.

2.            There will be a $1.50 charge per athlete per individual event‘A’ relay teams are $6.00 each.  ‘B’ relay teams can be entered free of charge if we do not have to form a third heat. You can wait until after the meet to send the money, or you may bring a check with you to the meet if you know how many events your athletes are competing in.  Spectators will also be charged $3.00 (CASH ONLY). Please tell parents that we have a capacity of 2,400 people (including athletes) for the meet and once we reach capacity, we will have to turn people away.  We will be awarding team trophies and Outstanding Athlete and Performance of the Meet awards.  The performance will be judged according to the point scale used for the State Performance of the Year, and the Outstanding Athlete will be voted upon by coaches.  

3.            We will be using runnercard.com for registration and results. The password is “super”. Entries need to be completed by Monday, March 15th at 4:00 pm for both the boys and the girls. Please attempt to get everything entered correctly on runnercard, and if there are any changes on the day of the meet, we will try to make adjustments. The fast heats will run first in every event. If you do not enter seed times and marks your athlete will be in the slow heats!

4.            All entry will be through the South gates of the stadium.  There will be separate entrances for coaches/athletes and spectators.

5.            Canopies are not allowed in the west bleachers.  Canopies in the east bleachers and grass areas outside the track are fine.

6.            There will be no limits on entries per event. We will get marks for all athletes in running events.  However, due to time/daylight, minimum standards for measurements will be enforced in the field events. Everyone will be guaranteed 1 mark if it is under the minimum line:

8.            To facilitate seeding, athletes should report to the starting line or field event area at first call.

9.            Shot Put, Discus, Javelin and Long Jump contestants will have three (3) attempts in the trials.  The top nine (9) will advance into the finals for an additional three attempts.

a.     Individual events and relays will be scored: 10 - 8 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1

 


10.        Because of the quality of the field, we will score eight (8) places, and will include marks from all heats and flights. 

11.        The discus will begin at 3:00 for Group A: Bingham, Bountiful, Clearfield, Corner Canyon, Davis, East and Fremont    

12.        Shot put will begin at 3:00 for Group B: Herriman, Layton, Northridge, Riverton, Syracuse, Viewmont and Weber

13.        Group A and Group B will switch events at the completion of their flights.

14.        Athletes making finals in the Shot Put will be called back to the shot put ring around 5:30 Discus finals will follow at about 6:00. Athletes in the finals with conflicts in other events should communicate with the field event official.

15.        Javelin and Long Jump will be an open runway for the entirety of the meet. The finals will begin promptly at 5:45 (finalists will be called back prior to finals), all trials throws must be done before 5:30 (No Exceptions). 

16.        3-4 heats will be contested in the 800 and 1600 runs.  Heats will be arranged with the top 14-18 runners placed in the fast (first) heat, and the remainder in the slower heats.

17.        NOTE: The 4x200m Relay and the 4x800m Relay will be contested.  It will count as a scoring event.
